Butalin 2 mg Salbutamol Syrup 120 ml

The active ingredient salbutamol belongs to a group of substances called airway wideners.

It relaxes the muscles in the walls of the small air passages in the lungs, causing them to widen.

This reduces chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing, leading to easier breathing.

The effect duration of salbutamol is from 4 to 6 hours.

Usage Instructions:

The usual medicinal dose of the drug is:

Adults:

5-20 ml syrup four times daily.

If there is no corresponding bronchial widening, the dose of each unit can be gradually increased to 20 ml concentrated syrup.

Some patients found relief from 5 ml syrup three or four times daily.

Children:

2-6 years:

5 ml syrup three or four times daily.

6-12 years:

5 ml syrup three or four times daily.

Above 12 years:

5-10 ml syrup three or four times daily.

Side effects related to overdose or frequent administration should only be changed by prescription.

Warnings and Precautions:

It is very important that your doctor checks your or your child's progress during regular visits.

This will allow your doctor to know if the medicine is working properly and to check for any unwanted effects.

Do not use this medicine with other similar inhaled medicines, including:

Isoproterenol or levalbuterol or metaproterenol or pirbuterol or

This medicine may cause paradoxical bronchospasm, meaning your breathing or wheezing will worsen.

This can be life-threatening.

Consult your doctor immediately if you or your child experience coughing, difficulty breathing, or wheezing after using this medicine.

Talk to your doctor or get medical help immediately if:

Your symptoms do not improve or get worse after using this medicine.

Your inhaler seems not to work as usual and you need to use it often.

You or your child may also be taking anti-inflammatory medicines, including steroids (medicine similar to cortisone), along with this medicine.

Do not stop taking anti-inflammatory medicines, even if your asthma seems better, unless your doctor tells you to.

Albuterol may cause serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, which can be life-threatening and require immediate medical care.

Consult your doctor immediately if you or your child develop rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or any swelling of the hands, face, or mouth while using this medicine.

Low potassium levels in the blood (hypokalemia) may occur while using this medicine.

Consult your doctor immediately if you or your child experience decreased urination, dry mouth, increased thirst, irregular heartbeat, loss of appetite, mood changes, muscle pain or cramps, nausea, vomiting, numbness, tingling in the hands, feet, or lips, difficulty breathing, seizures, or unusual tiredness or weakness.

Do not take other medicines unless discussed with your doctor.

This includes prescribed or non-prescribed (over-the-counter) medicines for appetite control, asthma, colds, cough, hay fever, sinus problems, herbal or vitamin supplements.
