- Always follow your doctor's instructions on your pharmacy label.
- Tamsulosin reduces muscle tone in the prostate and urethra.
- This facilitates the passage of urine through the urethra and thus facilitates urination.
- Tamsulosin is used to treat lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
- The effect is maintained with long-term treatment and can significantly delay surgery time.
Instructions for use:
- Always use this medication exactly as your doctor has told you to.
- Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- The recommended dose is one extended-release tablet daily.
- The extended-release tablet is swallowed whole and should not be crushed or chewed as this affects the prolonged-release effect.
- The effect of tamsulosin is not affected by eating or drinking.
- If you think the effect of tamsulosin is too strong or too weak, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist about this.
- If you forget to take tamsulosin, you can take the tablet later in the same day.
- If you miss a day, simply continue to take your daily dose as prescribed.
- You should not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Do not use tamsulosin if:
- You are allergic to tamsulosin or any of the other ingredients of this medication.
- You have previously become dizzy or fainted due to low blood pressure (for example when sitting up or standing up quickly).
- You have severely impaired liver function.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before using tamsulosin.
Warnings and precautions:
Use caution when using tamsulosin if:
- You have severely impaired kidney function.
- You feel dizzy or faint when you use tamsulosin. Then you should sit or lie down until the symptoms pass.
- You are or will be having eye surgery due to clouding of the lens (cataracts, cataracts) or increased pressure in the eye (glaucoma, glaucoma).
- Tell your eye care professional that you have ever used, are using, or plan to use tamsulosin.
