Scientific name: Pioglitazone 30 mg + glimepiride 4 mg tablets.
Uses:
- It is used to lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent). It is used when diet and exercise alone fail to control diabetes.
How to use:
- Initial dose: pioglitazone 30 mg-glimepiride 2 mg or pioglitazone 30 mg-glimepiride 4 mg orally once a day.
- Maintenance dosage: Titrate dosage gradually based on adequacy of therapeutic response and tolerability of each component.
- Take it with the first meal of the day.
Side effects:

- Headache.
- Myalgia.
- Anxiety.
- depression.
- Rapid heartbeat.
- Nausea and diarrhea.
- Cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sinus pain, sneezing, and sore throat.
Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking pioglitazone/glimepiride if you have ever had:
- Congestive heart failure or heart disease.
- Fluid retention.
- Bladder Cancer.
- Liver disease.
- Kidney disease.
- A hereditary enzyme deficiency called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
- Eye problems caused by diabetes.
- Heart attack or stroke.
Preservation method:
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat and light.
- Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use.
- Store pioglitazone/glimepiride at 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C).
- Keep it in the original container to protect it from light.
