Pantoprazole is used to treat excess stomach acid in conditions such as non-cancerous stomach ulcers and esophageal reflux disease. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that works by reducing stomach acid production. Pantoprazole is an over-the-counter medication used in adults to treat heartburn that occurs two or more times a week.
Pantol uses:
- It is used with antibiotics to treat Helicobacter pylori.
- Treating stomach ulcers.
- Treatment of duodenal ulcer.
- Treatment of esophageal reflux disease.
- Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
- Treatment of erosive esophagitis.
How to use Pantol:
The recommended dose is 40 mg once daily as a single or two doses.
Precautions and warnings:
- Pantoprazole may cause kidney problems.
- Pantoprazole should not be used for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms.
- Pantoprazole may cause new or worsening symptoms of lupus.
Side effects:
- Cold symptoms include stuffy nose, sneezing, and sore throat (especially in young people).
- Fever (especially in children).
