This medicine is to be given to a child under adult supervision.
chewable tablets should not be taken immediately with food; it should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food
For children who have problems consuming a chewable tablet, an oral granule formulation is available.
For children 2 to 5 years of age: 4 mg chewable tablet (or 4 mg granules) daily to be taken in the evening
For children 6 to 14 years old: 5 mg chewable tablets are available.
4 mg chewable tablet is not recommended below 2 years of age.
Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

Montelukast is not intended to treat severe asthma attacks. If an attack occurs, follow the instructions given to you by your doctor.It is important that you or your child take all of the asthma medicines your doctor has prescribed and montelukast should not be replaced with other asthma medicines your doctor has prescribed.Any patient taking anti-asthma medications should be aware that if they develop a combination of symptoms such as flu-like illness, numbness in the arms or legs, worsening pulmonary symptoms and/or rash, they should consult a physician.
