Dexilant 30 mg 28 capsules:
Dexlansoprazole 30 mg delayed-release capsules.
Dexlansoprazole is used for:
It is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI).
Delayed capsules are indicated in adults for:
- Cure all degrees of erosive esophagitis (erosive esophagitis).
- Maintains healing of erosive esophagitis and relieves heartburn.
- Treating heartburn associated with asymptomatic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
- SoluTab delayed-release orally disintegrating tablets are indicated when
- Maintains healing of erosive esophagitis and relieves heartburn.
- Treating heartburn associated with esophageal reflux.
Do not use dexlansoprazole:
- Patients suffering from hypersensitivity to any of the components of the preparation.
- Patients receiving products containing rilpivirine.
Warnings and precautions:
- Gastric malignancy: Symptomatic response with dexlansoprazole does not preclude gastric malignancy
- Acute interstitial nephritis: observed in patients taking proton pump inhibitors
- Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) deficiency: Long-term daily use (e.g., longer than 3 years) may result in malabsorption or cyanocobalamin deficiency.
- Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea: Proton pump inhibitor therapy may be associated with an increased risk
- Bone fracture: Long-term, multiple daily proton pump inhibitor therapy may be associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis-related fractures of the hip, wrist, or spine.
- Hypomagnesemia: Rarely reported with prolonged treatment with proton pump inhibitors.
- Interactions with Diagnostic Investigations for Neuroendocrine Tumors: Increases in intragastric pH may lead to hypergastrinemia, hyperplasia of chromaffin-like cells, and increased chromogrin A levels that may interfere with diagnostic investigations for neuroendocrine tumors.
- Interaction with Methotrexate: Concomitant use with proton pump inhibitors may elevate and/or prolong the serum concentrations of methotrexate and/or its metabolite, potentially resulting in toxicity. With high-dose methotrexate administration, consider temporary withdrawal.
Possible side effects:
Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you
- You suffer from: tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips or tongue, or you feel faint or have difficulty breathing.
- Hives or itching of the face or body.
Other medicines and dexlansoprazole:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking:
- Antiretrovirals
- Warfarin
- Methotrexate
- Digoxin
- Drugs that depend on gastric pH for absorption (such as iron salts, erlotinib, dasatinib, nilotinib, mycophenolate mofetil, ketoconazole/itraconazole)
- Tacrolimus
- Inhibitors of CYP2C19 or CYP3A4
- Inducers of CYP2C19 or CYP3A4
How to use dexlansoprazole:
- Two 30 mg SoluTab tablets cannot be substituted for one 60 mg capsule
- Dexlansoprazole capsules
- Healing of erosive esophagitis: 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks
- Maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis: 30 mg once daily for up to 6 months
Asymptomatic esophageal reflux: 30 mg once daily for
- 4 weeks
Dixlansoprazole SoluTab
- Maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis: 30 mg once daily for up to 6 months
- Asymptomatic esophageal reflux: 30 mg once daily for 4 weeks
Dexlansoprazole capsules:

Eat without regard.
- Swallow whole; Do not chew.
- Dixlansoprazole SoluTab.
- Take at least 30 minutes before a meal.
