Scientific name: Iron hydroxide injection.
Uses:
- Supports overall health.

- This medication contains iron. Iron-containing medications are used when you do not have enough iron in your body.
- It is used as a supplement to prevent iron deficiency in the blood.
How to use:
- Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you.
- Feroton is usually given as an injection in your doctor's office or clinic.
- If you miss a dose of Feroton, contact your doctor immediately.
- Ask your healthcare provider any questions you may have about how to use Feroton.
- Feroton can be given in three different ways:
- Slow intravenous injection - 1 to 3 times a week.
- As an infusion (drip) into a vein - 1 to 3 times a week.
- During dialysis - they are placed in the venous end of the dialysis machine.
Side effects:
Side effects are not common to everyone, but some patients may complain of:
- Constipation.
- diarrhea.
- Stomach upset.
- Nausea.
Warnings and precautions:
Before using this medicine, talk to your doctor or pharmacist:
- If you suffer or have ever had a peptic ulcer.
- If you suffer from liver disease.
- If you suffer from kidney failure.
- If you suffer from any heart disease.
- If you suffer from asthma.
- If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
- If you have had a gastrectomy (operation to remove all or part of the stomach).
- If you suffer from diabetes.
- If you suffer from inflammatory bowel disease.
- If you suffer from diverticular disease (where cysts form in the intestinal wall).
- If you suffer from iron overload.
- If you have intestinal stricture (abnormal narrowing of the intestine often caused by inflammation).
- If you have a concurrent deficiency of vitamin B12 or folic acid because the combined deficiency produces a microcellular blood film.
- If you have difficulties swallowing tablets or capsules.
Preservation method:
- Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
- Do not refrigerate the medicine in the refrigerator.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
