Lorvast 10 mg 30 tablets:
Scientific name: Atorvastatin 10 mg tablets.
Uses:
- It is used to lower fats known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when a low-fat diet and lifestyle changes fail to achieve the desired results.
- If you are at increased risk of heart disease, atorvastatin may also be used to reduce this risk even if your cholesterol levels are normal.
How to use:
- The usual starting dose of atorvastatin is 10 mg once a day for adults and children 10 years of age or older.
- The dose may be increased if necessary by your doctor to reach the desired goal.
- Atorvastatin tablets should be swallowed whole with water, with or without food.
- Atorvastatin tablets can be taken at any time of the day, but the most common instruction is to take statins at night, as cholesterol production is thought to be higher at night.
- Doses may change in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor's instructions.
side effects:
Side effects are not common to everyone, but some patients may complain of:
- Inflammation of the nasal passages, sore throat, nosebleeds.
- Allergic reactions.
- Increases in blood sugar levels.
- Headache.
- Nausea, constipation, flatulence, indigestion, diarrhea.
- Joint pain, muscle pain and back pain.
- Blood test results that show liver function can become abnormal Skin rash, itching, hives, and hair loss.
- Neck pain and muscle fatigue.
- Fatigue, feeling unwell, weakness, chest pain, swelling especially in the ankles (edema), high temperature.
- Muscle weakness, tenderness, pain and tearing.
Warnings and precautions:
Do not take atorvastatin:
- If you are allergic to atorvastatin or any of the other ingredients of this medication.
- If you have or have ever had a disease that affects the liver.
- If you have any abnormal blood tests for liver function.
- If you are a woman who is capable of having children and is not using contraception.
- If you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.
- If you are breastfeeding.
- If you are using the combination of glecaprevir/pibrentasvir to treat hepatitis C.
Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking atorvastatin:
- If you suffer from severe respiratory failure.
- If you are taking or have taken in the past 7 days a medicine called fusidic acid (medicine for bacterial infections) by mouth or by injection, the combination of fusidic acid and atorvastatin can cause serious muscle problems.
- If you have had a previous stroke with bleeding in the brain, or have small pockets of fluid in the brain from previous strokes.
- If you have kidney problems.
- If you suffer from an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism).
- If you experience recurring or unexplained muscle aches or pains.
- If you have a personal or family history of muscle problems.
- If you have previously had muscle problems during treatment with other lipid-lowering medicines.
- If you have a history of liver disease.
- If you are over 70 years old.
Preservation method:
- Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
- Do not refrigerate the medicine in the refrigerator.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
