The description:

• Panadol Extend features a sustained-release formula that can provide long-term relief from joint pain such as that associated with osteoarthritis.
• Panadol Extend can be a suitable option as it contains a higher dose of paracetamol compared to regular Panadol tablets.
• Panadol Extend may provide up to 8 hours of pain relief.
• Panadol Extend is a unique bi-layered tablet that includes an immediate-release dose and a sustained-release dose of paracetamol.
• Paracetamol is released in two phases, with the first phase being released rapidly, for a quick onset of action, while the second phase is released slowly during the day or night, to provide the potential for prolonged pain relief.

How to use:

• Oral use only.
• Adults including the elderly and children aged 12 years and over: 2 tablets taken three times daily every 6 to 8 hours as required, a maximum of 6 tablets in a 24-hour period.
• Maximum daily dose: 4000 mg.
• Do not exceed the specified dose.
• It should not be used with other products containing paracetamol.
• It can be taken with or without food.
• Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Warnings and precautions:

• Always read the label. Use treatment only as directed, to relieve pain and fever. Incorrect use can be harmful.
• This treatment should not be taken at the same time as other products containing paracetamol.
• Do not take this remedy if you are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredients in this product.
• If symptoms persist, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• If you have any liver or kidney problems, please consult your doctor before taking Panadol.
• If you have glutathione-depleting conditions such as sepsis, please consult your doctor before taking Panadol.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.
• An overdose of paracetamol may cause liver failure. Immediate medical attention should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if symptoms of an overdose are not present.
• Prolonged daily use of paracetamol with warfarin and other coumarins used to thin the blood may increase the risk of bleeding. Consult your doctor before taking these medicines together. Occasional doses of paracetamol do not have a significant effect.

• Store at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.
• Store in the original packaging in order to protect from moisture.
• Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.
• Do not dispose of medications in wastewater or household waste.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package.
