Gliptamate 50/850 mg - 56 tablets
Scientific name: sitagliptin 50 mg + metformin 850 mg tablets.
It reduces blood sugar levels and protects against diabetes complications.
How the medicine works:
- This medication is used to treat a type of diabetes called type 2 diabetes.
- Sitagliptin and metformin work together to control blood sugar.
- It increases insulin levels after eating and reduces the amount of sugar your body makes in the liver.
- Along with diet and exercise, this medication helps lower blood sugar.
- This medication may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medications, including insulin.
How to use:
- Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you to.

Take one tablet twice daily by mouth with meals to reduce your chance of stomach upset.
- Your doctor may need to increase your dose to control your blood sugar.
- If you have impaired kidney function, your doctor may prescribe a lower dose.
side effects:
- Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing.
- Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching of the face or body.
Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking:
- If you have or have ever had a disease of the pancreas.
- If you have gallstones, alcoholism or very high levels of triglycerides in your blood.
- If you have type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent diabetes).
- If you have or have ever had an allergic reaction to sitagliptin, metformin.
- If you take a sulfonylurea or insulin and diabetes medications, together.
Interaction with other medications:
Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken medicines that may require further blood glucose tests and kidney function tests, such as:
- Oral or inhaled medications used to treat diseases that involve inflammation such as asthma.
- Medicines that increase urine production (diuretics).
- Medicines used to treat pain and inflammation (NSAIDs and COX-2 inhibitors, such as ibuprofen and celecoxib).
- Specific medicines for the treatment of bronchial asthma (β-sympathomimetics).
- Some medicines used to treat stomach problems such as cimetidine.
- Ranolazine, a medicine used to treat angina.
Preservation method:
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the blister and carton.
- The expiration date refers to the last day of the month.
- Do not store above 30°C.
