Riacol eye ointment 5g

Scientific name: Chloramphenicol 1% eye ointment.

Uses:

• Chloramphenicol eye ointment is used in both adults and children to treat a wide range of eye infections caused by bacteria.
• Rapid relief of inflammation.

How to use:

• Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you.
• Eye preparations are usually sterile, so make sure the container is not damaged before use.
• Wash your hands well before use.
• Remove the outer cap. You may find it easier to apply the ointment in front of a mirror.
• Tilt the head back and pull the lower eyelid outward to form a pocket.
• Holding the tube between the thumb and middle finger of the other hand, turn the tube upside down near the eye, trying not to touch the eye with the nozzle.
• Place about half an inch of ointment into the pocket formed between the eyelid and the eye.
• Blink several times.
• Repeat in the other eye if you are instructed to use eye ointment in both eyes.
• Place the cap on the tube, and try not to touch the tip of the tube with anything, including your eyes or fingers.
• Wash your hands after use.
• Dosages may change from patient to patient based on your age, medical condition, and whether you are taking other medications, so always follow your doctor's instructions.

• Slight irritation or burning in the eye.

Before using this medicine, talk to your doctor if you have:

• If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.

• If you have eye irritation or redness that gets worse or lasts for more than 72 hours.

Preservation method:

• Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
• Do not refrigerate unopened package in the refrigerator.
• Do not use for more than 28 days after opening the package, unless your pharmacist advises otherwise.
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
