Uses:

Cefixime treats many types of inflammation and infections, such as:

• Uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by Escherichia coli, among others.
• Otitis media caused by Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella influenzae.
• Pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by streptococci.
• Acute bronchitis and exacerbation of chronic bronchitis caused by the bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae Haemophilus influenzae.
• Uncomplicated gonorrhea of ​​the cervix and urethra caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

How to use:

The doctor determines the dose of cefixime depending on the patient's condition, age, and infection, but the dose is often as follows:

• Cefixime dose for adults is 400 mg once daily to treat various infections such as gonorrhea.
• Cefixime dose for children Children's dose: 8 mg/kg/day of suspension, which can be taken as a single dose or divided into two doses (4 mg/kg every 12 hours).
