Scientific name: Alfacalcidol 0.25 mcg capsules.

Uses:

• Alfacalcidol is used to treat diseases in which the amount of calcium in your body needs to be changed.
• It is used to treat: Changes in the bones due to kidney failure (bone atrophy).
• It is used to treat: changes in the thyroid glands.
• It is used to treat: Low levels of calcium in the blood of newborns (hypocalcemia).

How to use:

• Adults and children weighing more than 20 kg: The usual starting dose is 1 mcg every day.
• Individuals usually take between 1 and 3 micrograms each day.

Side effects:

You should get urgent medical help if you have any of the following symptoms. You may have an allergic reaction:

• Swelling of the face or throat.
