Onglyza 2.5 mg 30 tablets
Scientific name: Saxagliptin 2.5 mg tablets.
Uses:
- It is used for adult patients aged 18 years and older with type 2 diabetes.
- If the disease cannot be adequately controlled with a single oral diabetes medication, diet and exercise.
- It is used alone or with insulin or other antidiabetic medications.
How to use:
- Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you to.
- The recommended dose of saxagliptin is 5 mg once a day.
- If you have poor kidney function, your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of 2.5 mg tablet once a day.
- The tablets should not be split or cut. Swallow the tablet whole with a little water.
- The medication can be taken at any time of the day, however, try to take it at the same time every day.
Side effects:
- Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing.
- Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching of the face or body.
Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking saxagliptin:
- If you take insulin.
- If you have type 1 diabetes (your body does not produce any insulin) or diabetic ketoacidosis.
- If you have or have ever had a disease of the pancreas.
- If you take insulin or an anti-diabetic medicine known as a sulfonylurea.
- If you have a condition that lowers your defense against infection.
- If you have heart failure or other risk factors for heart failure such as kidney problems.
- If you have impaired kidney function.
- If you have moderate or severe liver problems.
Preservation method:
- Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
- Do not refrigerate the medicine in the refrigerator.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
