Your doctor has prescribed alendronic acid because you either have osteoporosis or are at risk of developing the disease.
How to use:
- Used to treat osteoporosis in men or postmenopausal women, the recommended dose is 10 mg once a day.
- For the prevention of steroid-induced osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who are not receiving hormone replacement therapy (HRT) with estrogen, the recommended dose is 10 mg once a day.
Side effects:

- You have cancer.
- You are taking corticosteroids.
- That you are or have been a smoker.
