Ambolar 15 mg Syrup 100 ml:
- Ambroxol, is a mucolytic drug, which decomposes and breaks up sputum by breaking down the polysaccharide fibers present, making the sputum thinner and less viscous, thus creating and eliminating it through crises, and facilitating the treatment of the sick patient. It remains for a long period of time to undergo treatment.
Ambroxol is used to treat some diseases of the system other than those accompanied by congestion of mucus and phlegm or an increase in their density or secretion. Ambroxol is used as a treatment alone or in conjunction with a combination of other diseases of the system. It may also be used as a pain reliever in cases of sore throat because it has a topical effect
Do not take Ambolar if:
- You are hypersensitive to any of the components.
Possible side effects:
- Ambroxol is generally well-tolerated.
- Mild upper gastrointestinal side effects (primarily Heartburn, dyspepsia, and occasionally nausea, Vomiting) have been reported.
- Allergic reactions, primarily skin rash, have been rarely reported.
Other medicines and Ambolar :
- Avoid concomitant use of Ambroxol with antibiotics.
How to take Ambolar :
- The recommended dose varies depending on age, as follows:
Adults: 30 mg (1 Ambroxol tablet) to 120 mg (4 Ambroxol tablets), divided into two or three doses daily.
Children up to two years of age: half a teaspoon (2.5 ml) of Ambroxol syrup twice daily.
Children 2-5 years: half a teaspoon (2.5 ml) of Ambroxol syrup 3 times daily.
Children over 5 years: one teaspoon (5 ml) of Ambroxol syrup 2-3 times daily.
