Optiflox 0.3% eye drops 5 ml

Optiflox-ofloxacin 0.3% eye drops.

Ofloxacin is an eye drop used to treat external eye infections such as some types of conjunctivitis. Ofloxacin belongs to a group of medicines called 4-quinolone antibacterial agents.

Warnings and Precautions:

• This product should be used with caution in patients hypersensitive to other quinolone antibacterial agents. Long-term use may result in new bacterial infections that do not respond to ofloxacin.
• This product should be used with caution in patients with a defect or ulceration of the ocular surface.
• Ofloxacin may increase sensitivity to sunlight. You should avoid exposure to direct sunlight or the sun while using ofloxacin.
• Caution should be taken when using this type of medicine if you were born with or have a family history of a prolonged QT interval, have a salt imbalance in your blood, have very slow heartbeats, have a weak heart, or have a history of: of a heart attack, are female or elderly, or are taking other medications that cause abnormal ECG changes.

Possible side effects of ofloxacin:
Like all medicines, ofloxacin can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

•  Eye irritation , eye discomfort
• visual disturbances
• inflammation , redness;
• photosensitivity
• The feeling that something is in your eye , eye pain .
• Eye swelling , puffiness around the eyes.
• Drought.
• dizziness , nausea;
• Life-threatening arrhythmias.

Serious side effects:

• If you have one or more of the following side effects, you may be having a serious allergic reaction. Stop taking ofloxacin immediately and call your doctor.
• Allergic reactions in the eye (including itching of the eye and/or eyelid).
• Allergic dermatitis (including: rash, itching or hives).
• A severe, sudden, life-threatening allergic reaction.
• A potentially life-threatening rash.

How to take ofloxacin:

• Always use ofloxacin exactly as your doctor has told you

1. wash your hands. Tilt your head back and look at the ceiling.
2. Gently pull the lower eyelid downward until there is a small pocket
3. Turn the bottle upside down and squeeze it to release one or two drops into each eye that needs treatment.
4. Let go of the lower eyelid, and close your eye for 30 seconds. If you miss your eye drops, try again.

• To avoid contamination, do not let the dropper tip touch your eye or anything else. Replace cap and tighten immediately after use.
