Paquix 2.5mg 60 Tablets
Scientific name: Apixaban 2.5 mg tablets.
Uses:
- To prevent the formation of a blood clot in the heart in patients with an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation).
- To treat blood clots in your leg veins (deep vein thrombosis) and in the blood vessels in your lungs (pulmonary embolism), and to prevent recurrence of blood clots in the blood vessels in your legs and/or lungs.
How to use:
- Swallow the tablet with water.
- Apixaban film-coated tablets can be taken with or without food and try to take the tablets at the same time every day for the best therapeutic effect.
- The recommended dose is one 5 mg apixaban film-coated tablet twice a day.
The recommended dose is one apixaban 2.5 mg tablet twice a day if:
- You have severe kidney function impairment
*Two or more of the following apply to you:
- Your blood test results indicate poor kidney function (blood creatinine value of 1.5 mg/dL (133 µmol/L) or more).
- You are 80 years of age or older.
- You weigh 60 kg or less.
- Doses may change in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor's instructions.
Side effects:
Side effects are not common to everyone, but some patients may complain of:
- bleeding.
- Anemia.
- Low blood pressure, which may make you feel faint or have a rapid heartbeat.
- nausea.
- Blood tests may show: Increased liver enzymes.
Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine if you have any of the following:
- Increased risk of bleeding, such as: bleeding disorders, including conditions that lead to decreased platelet activity, and severe high blood pressure that cannot be controlled by medical treatment.
- You are over 75 years old.
- You weigh 60 kg or less.
- You have severe kidney disease or if you are undergoing dialysis.
- You have a liver problem or a history of liver problems.
Preservation method:
- Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
- Do not refrigerate the medicine in the refrigerator.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
