Scientific name: Cabergoline 0.5 mg tablets.
Uses:
Cabergoline can be used in:
- Stop expressing breast milk for medical reasons only and when your doctor decides it is necessary.
- Cabergoline should not be used routinely to stop breast milk production.
- Treating fertility and menstrual cycle problems usually caused by prolactin irregularities, including polycystic ovary syndrome.
- Treating non-cancerous brain tumors called prolactin tumors.
- Parkinson's disease treatment.
How to use:
- It is recommended that cabergoline be taken with or after food to help reduce feelings of nausea or vomiting.
To prevent milk production (lactation):
- 1 mg (two 0.5 mg tablets) should be taken on the first day after birth.
To stop breastfeeding once breastfeeding has begun:
- 0.25 mg (half a 0.5 mg cabergoline tablet) should be taken every 12 hours for two days.
To reduce prolactin levels in other conditions:
- You should initially take one 0.5 mg tablet (taken in two doses) spread over a week (for example, half the tablet on Sunday and the other half of the tablet on Wednesday).
- Your dose will be increased until you reach a maximum of 4.5 mg per week or until you fully respond to treatment.
- The maximum dose should not exceed 3 mg per day.
side effects:
- Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing.
- Stop using the product if you experience facial or body itching.
Warnings and precautions:
Before using this medicine, talk to your doctor if you:
- If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
- If you suffer from kidney or liver problems.
- If you suffer from heart disease.
- If you suffer, or have suffered in the past, from a stomach ulcer.
- If you have a history of serious mental illness, especially psychotic disorders.
- If you have low blood pressure.
Preservation method:
- Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
- Do not refrigerate the medicine in the refrigerator.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
