Why Budesonide/Formoterol is used:

It is an inhaler used to treat asthma in adults, teenagers, and children ages 6 years and older.
Do not use budesonide/formoterol:

If you are allergic to budesonide, formoterol, or any other ingredient in this medication, which is lactose (which contains small amounts of milk protein).
Warnings and precautions:

Possible side effects:

Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing.

Other medicines budesonide/formoterol:

In particular, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using any of the following medicines:
Beta blocker medications (such as atenolol or propranolol for high blood pressure), including eye drops (such as timolol for glaucoma)
Drugs that speed up or irregular heartbeat (such as quinidine)
Medications such as digoxin, often used to treat heart failure
Diuretics, also known as 'water tablets' (eg furosemide)
Steroid medications you take orally (such as prednisolone)
Xanthine medications (such as theophylline or aminophylline)
Other bronchodilators (eg salbutamol)
Tricyclic antidepressants (eg amitriptyline) and nefazodone antidepressants
Phenothiazine medications (such as chlorpromazine and prochlorperazine)
Medicines called 'HIV protease inhibitors' (such as ritonavir) to treat HIV infection
Medicines used to treat infections (such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole, posaconazole, clarithromycin and telithromycin)
Parkinson's disease medications (such as levadopa)
Medications for thyroid problems (such as levo-thyroxine)
How to use budesonide/formoterol:

A) Use of budesonide/formoterol Turbuhaler and a separate inhaler:

Use budesonide/formoterol Turbuhaler every day. This helps prevent asthma symptoms.
Adults (18 years and over):

The usual dose is one inhalation once or twice a day.
Your doctor may increase this to 4 inhalations twice a day.
If your symptoms are well controlled, your doctor may ask you to take the medication once a day.
Teenagers (12 to 17 years):

The usual dose is one inhalation once or twice a day.
If your symptoms are well controlled, your doctor may ask you to take the medication once a day.
Children (6 to 11 years):

The usual dose is one inhalation twice a day.
Budesonide/Formoterol Turbuhaler is not recommended for use in children younger than 6 years.
Use a separate inhaler to treat asthma symptoms when they occur.
Always keep a reliever inhaler with you to use when you need it. Do not use budesonide/formoterol turbuhaler to treat asthma symptoms - use your inhaler.
b) Use of Budesonide/Formoterol Turbuhaler as the sole inhaler for asthma:

Only use budesonide/formoterol turbuhaler in this way if your doctor tells you to do so and if you are 12 years or older.
Use budesonide/formoterol Turbuhaler every day.
This helps prevent asthma symptoms.
You can take: 1 inhalation in the morning, 1 inhalation in the evening, 2 inhalations in the morning, or 2 inhalations in the evening.

How to store budesonide/formoterol:

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton.
The expiration date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
Keep container tightly closed.
Do not use if you notice any damage to the outer packaging
Do not dispose of any medicines via wastewater or household waste
