Vascodipine 10 mg 30 tablets:
- Amlodipine contains the active ingredient amlodipine, which belongs to a group of medicines called calcium blockers.
- Please note that the doctor may have prescribed the medicine for a different use and/or in a different dose than stated in the package insert.
- Always follow your doctor's prescription as stated on the pharmacy label.
- Amlodipine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or a special type of chest pain called angina, including a rare form called Prinzmetal or variant angina.
- In patients with high blood pressure, the drug works by widening blood vessels, so blood passes more easily through them.
- In patients with angina, amlodipine works by improving blood flow to the heart muscle, which therefore receives more oxygen to prevent chest pain.
- The medication does not provide immediate relief from chest pain caused by angina.
