Scientific name: Amoxicillin 500 mg + clavulanic acid 125 mg tablets.

Uses:

It is used to treat the following types of infections:

• Middle ear and sinus infections.
• Respiratory infection.
• Urinary tract infection.
• Skin and soft tissue infections including dental infections.
• Bone and joint infection.

How to use:

• Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you.
• Take the medicine with food.
• Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.
• Space doses evenly during the day, at least 4 hours apart and do not take two doses in one hour.
• Do not take amoxicillin/clavulanic acid for more than two weeks.
• Children aged 6 years or younger should preferably be treated with amoxicillin/clavulanic acid oral suspension or effervescent sachets, as the tablets are not suitable for children weighing less than 25 kg.
• Adults and children weighing more than 40 kg. The usual dose is: one tablet every 8 hours or one tablet every 12 hours, depending on the severity and type of infection.
• Doses may change in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor's instructions.

Side effects:

Side effects are not common to everyone, but some patients may complain of the following:

• Allergic reactions. Signs may include: itchy skin or rash, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, body or breathing difficulties.
• nausea.
• Diarrhea.
• Other severe skin reactions can include: changes in skin color, bumps under the skin, ulcers, blisters, peeling, redness, pain, itching.
• Flu-like symptoms accompanied by a rash, fever, swollen glands, and abnormal blood test results.

Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking amoxicillin/clavulanic acid if:

• You have a fever.
• You have liver or kidney problems.

Preservation method:

• Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
• Do not refrigerate the medicine in the refrigerator.
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
