Mycostat suspension 30 ml:

The oral suspension is intended for oral administration of nystatin in infants, young children, and persons with oropharyngeal candidiasis.

Mycostat uses:

• Treatment of gastrointestinal candidiasis excluding esophageal candidiasis in those who are immunocompromised.
• Complementary treatment of vaginal and skin candidiasis with the aim of achieving sterilization of associated intestinal candidiasis.
• Prevention of candidiasis in high-risk cases: premature infants, immunocompromised, patients undergoing antineoplastic chemotherapy.

Instructions for use:

Oral candidiasis:

Infants (from one month to two years):

• 1 ml should be dropped into the mouth four times a day.

Children (>2 years) and adults:

• For the treatment of tooth ulcers and mouth infections in children (>2 years) and adults caused by Candida albicans.
• 1 ml of suspension should be dropped into the mouth four times daily. You should remain in contact with the affected areas for as long as possible.

Intestinal candidiasis:

Infants (from one month to two years):

• 1 ml should be dropped into the mouth four times a day.

Children (>2 years):

• 1 ml should be dropped into the mouth four times a day.

Adults:

• 5 ml of the suspension should be dropped into the mouth four times daily.

Warnings and precautions:

• If irritation or sensitivity occurs, discontinue treatment and take appropriate action as indicated.
• It is recommended to use KOH smears, cultures, or other diagnostic methods to confirm the diagnosis of cutaneous or mucocutaneous candidiasis and to rule out infection caused by other pathogens.
• Long-term studies have not been performed to evaluate the carcinogenic potential of nystatin.
• No studies have been performed to determine genetic mutations of nystatin or its effects on male or female fertility.
• It is not known whether it may cause fetal harm when used by pregnant or breastfeeding women.
