Simethicone is used to relieve painful symptoms such as: the feeling of pressure, fullness in the epigastric area, and intestinal cramping - due to the excessive accumulation of gases that may form in the digestive system.
Do not use simethicone:
If you are suffering from capillary disease.
If you are suffering from gastrointestinal disorders.
How to use simethicone:
drops:
Infants (under two years): Half a dropper (½ ml or approximately 10 drops) equals 20 mg simethicone four times a day after meals and at bedtime.
Children (2-12 years): One dropper (1 ml or approximately 20 drops) equals 40 mg simethicone four times a day after meals and at bedtime.
For diagnostic purposes (endoscopic, radiological, or ultrasound examinations), the drops are administered as follows: 50 drops 3-4 times a day for the two days prior, and 50 drops while fasting on the morning of the examination and immediately before the investigation.
For infants and children, it is not recommended to exceed 240 mg/day except under the supervision and guidance of a physician.
Warnings and precautions:
There are no special precautionary measures necessary.
Possible side effects:
Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing.
Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching of the face or body.
Other medications and simethicone:
No interactions with other agents have been reported.
