Elidel 1% Cream 30 gram
Scientific name: pimecrolimus cream.
Uses:
- It is used topically (on the skin) to treat adults and children ages 2 years and older with a healthy immune system who have mild to moderate eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, a condition that makes your skin itchy and red.
How to use:
- Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you to.
- Apply a thin layer of Ideal Cream to the affected skin twice daily.
- The patient should discontinue use of Elidel Cream, 1% when signs and symptoms disappear and should be instructed on what actions to take if symptoms recur.
- If signs and symptoms persist for more than 6 weeks, patients should be re-examined by their healthcare provider to confirm the diagnosis of atopic dermatitis.
- Long-term continuous use of Elidel Cream, 1% should be avoided, and application should be limited to areas of atopic dermatitis.
Side effects:
- Mild irritation or burning at the application site during the first few days of treatment.
- Headache may occur.
Warnings and precautions:
- The long-term safety of topical calcineurin inhibitors has not been established.
- Although a causal relationship has not been established, rare cases of malignancy (e.g., skin, lymphoma) have been reported in patients treated with topical calcineurin inhibitors, including Lidil Cream, 1%. And therefore:
- Continuous, long-term use of topical calcineurin inhibitors, including Elidel Cream, 1%, should be avoided at any age, and application should be limited to areas of atopic dermatitis.
- Elidel Cream, 1% is not indicated for use in children less than 2 years of age.
Preservation method:
- Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
- Do not refrigerate the medicine in the refrigerator.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
