Ezilax syrup 300 ml:
Ezilax is a thick, clear to yellowish-brown liquid solution prepared for oral administration.
How Ezilax works :
- A medicine that belongs to a class of medicines called “laxatives”.
- It is used to help relieve constipation by making stools softer and easier to pass.
- It works by drawing water into the intestines.
- It is also used in hepatic encephalopathy (a decline in brain function that occurs as a result of severe liver disease) by reducing the amount of ammonia in the blood.
Medical uses of Azelax:
- Help relieve constipation.
- Reducing the amount of ammonia in the blood for patients with hepatic encephalopathy.
- When stool softening is needed to provide medical benefit (such as in cases of hemorrhoids, or after colon/anal surgeries).
- In the case of a patient suffering from portal systemic encephalopathy (PSE).
How to use:
- Always take Ezilax oral solution as directed by your doctor.
- Ezilax is an oral solution that can be taken diluted or undiluted.
- Take your dose of lactulose all at once, and do not keep the solution in your mouth for any length of time.
- It may take a few days for the medication to take effect. The maintenance dose is determined based on your response.
- You can take the medicine regardless of meals.
- Make sure to drink plenty of fluids (about 2 liters of water per day) while taking this medication.
Warnings and precautions:
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure and dizziness.
- Be sure to tell your doctor if you have diabetes and liver problems in order to adjust the doses of your diabetes medications.
- Do not use the medication for longer than necessary to prevent dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
- You should reduce your medication intake if you experience abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, and flatulence.
- Do not give the medicine to patients under 14 years of age without first consulting a doctor to prescribe it.
- Avoid taking other oral medications within several hours before, during, or after taking lactulose in order to prevent washout of the medication.
- Avoid taking other laxatives at the same time to prevent excessive gastrointestinal side effects.

Do not take Ezilax oral solution in the following cases:
- If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to lactulose or any other excipient used in Dulac oral solution.
- If you suffer from galactosemia.
- If you suffer from a bowel obstruction.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you get unexplained abdominal pain, if you have:
- Diabetes (high blood glucose levels).
- If you suffer from lactose intolerance (inability to digest lactose normally).

- Abdominal bloating (usually goes away after a few days).
