Uses:
Fleet enema for children is a saline laxative used to treat occasional constipation and prepare the bowel for surgery or medical imaging. The benefits of the enema are as follows:
- Fleet enema helps relieve constipation by increasing the amount of water in the intestines, which softens the stool and makes it easier to pass.
- Fleet enema is used as part of preparing the colon for surgery or a medical examination, such as a colonoscopy or X-ray.
- This helps empty the bowel of any stool or feces, allowing the doctor to perform the examination or surgery more accurately.
- Fleet enema can also be used to treat other conditions, such as chronic diarrhea or bowel obstruction.
How to use:
Fleet enema is used to treat constipation in children, as well as to prepare children for surgery or X-ray imaging, and in order to be able to use it without harming the child, you must follow the following steps:
- Warm the enema to room temperature before use. This helps prevent the child from becoming uncomfortable.
- Help the child relax. Placing the child on his side or in a squatting position may help make it easier to insert the enema.
- Gently insert the enema into the rectum. You should feel a slight resistance as you enter the tip.
- Gently press the pump to empty the enema contents.
- Help the child remain in the squatting position for 10-15 minutes until the intestines absorb the fluid.
- If the baby does not come out, you can repeat the process again.
Warnings and precautions:
- Do not use Fleet enema if the child has proctitis or hemorrhoids.
- Do not use more than one enema per day.
- If there is no improvement in constipation after using Fleet enema, contact your doctor.
