Hemaded ferrous sulphate 200 mg

Hemaded belongs to a group of medications called iron supplements. These medications work by replacing iron in the body. Iron is a mineral that the body needs to produce red blood cells. When the body does not get enough iron, or cannot produce enough normal red blood cells needed to keep you healthy. This condition is called iron deficiency anemia. Hemaded is used to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia.

• Each coated tablet of Hemaded contains 200 mg of dried ferrous sulphate (65 mg of essential iron),
• Which works on the following:
• Helping to increase and maintain iron levels in the blood, while preserving the stomach and colon and reducing the chances of constipation caused by iron intake.
• Supports red blood cell production
• Supports metabolism, growth, development and normal cellular function.

Instructions for use of Hemaded Ferrous Sulphate 200 mg

• Always take this medicine exactly as stated in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure how to use.
• With food and drinks, take Hemaded within one hour before or within two hours after eating food or drinks.
• You should not take the following: tea, coffee, milk, eggs and whole grains. These products may reduce iron absorption. Meat or products containing vitamin C can increase...
• Iron absorption. Follow the advice of your nutritionist or physician when taking Hemadyd with any food or drink that belongs to the types listed here.
• Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not suck, chew, or keep the tablet in your mouth.
• Although iron preparations are best absorbed on an empty stomach, they can be taken after food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.

Recommended dose

• Adults and the elderly:
• - When used for treatment: 3 tablets daily in divided doses.
• - When used for prevention: 2 tablets daily.
• Children between the ages of 6 and 12 years
• When used for treatment:
• Children weighing more than 22 kg: one tablet daily.
• Children weighing more than 44 kg: one tablet twice daily.
• Children weighing more than 66 kg: one tablet three times daily.
• Children under 6 years of age or weighing less than 22 kg: Use is not recommended.

Warnings and precautions

• If you take an excessive amount of Hemaded
• If you (or anyone else) swallow a large amount of tablets at the same time, or if you think a child has taken any of them, call the emergency department of the nearest hospital or tell your doctor immediately.
• If you forget to take Hemaded
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you forgot. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember and then take the next dose at the specified time.
