Isobide 20 mg 20 capsules:
Isosorbide dinitrate 20 mg capsules.
What is isosorbide dinitrate and what is it used for:
- It is a vasodilator and is used in long-term treatment and prevention of coronary and angina circulatory disorders and rehabilitation treatment after myocardial infarction.
How to take isosorbide dinitrate:
- For adults over 18 years: The usual dose is one tablet twice daily.
- Do not exceed 240 mg daily.
- Do not open or crush.
- Swallow whole with water.
- Do not stop the medication if not authorized by your healthcare provider.
- Do not use after expiry date.
Do not take isosorbide dinitrate:
- Hypersensitivity to isosorbide dinitrate.
- Acute circulatory failure (shock, vascular collapse).
- Severe low blood pressure.
- Bleeding.
- You are taking a phosphodiesterase inhibitor (such as sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil).
Warnings and precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with increased intraocular pressure.
- Alcohol should be avoided during treatment.
- There is a possibility of accelerated hemolysis (rupture of red blood cells) if you have a G6PD deficiency
Possible side effects:
- Headache.
- Water flow - drainage.
- Low blood pressure.
Other medicines and isosorbide dinitrate:
- Using phosphodiesterase inhibitors (such as sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil) can make low blood pressure worse.
- Orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure on movement) may occur with combined use of calcium channel blockers (eg, amlodipine), antihypertensive agents, phenothiazines, and tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline, imipramine, doxepillin).
- Alcohol use may cause severe low blood pressure and collapse.
