Opticin 0.3% Eye Drops 5 ml:
Ciprofloxacin 0.3% sterile eye and ear drops.
Uses of Opticin 0.3% eye drops:
- Ciprofloxacin is used locally to treat superficial eye infections (affecting the eyelids, conjunctiva, and cornea) and outer ear infections caused by bacteria sensitive to ciprofloxacin.
How to take ciprofloxacin:
- This drug is for external use only.
- Do not use the ointment for children under two years.
- Take this drug as ordered by your doctor.
- Wash your hands before and after use.
- Do not let the nozzle touch the eye, eyelid, or any other area of skin.
- For conjunctival infection, place 2 drops in the affected eye every 2 hours while awake for 2 days and then 2 drops every 4 hours while awake for the next 5 days.
- For eye ulcers, place 2 drops of solution in the affected eye every 15 minutes for the first 6 hours, then 2 drops in the affected eye every 30 minutes for the rest of the first day. On the second day, place two drops in the affected eye every hour. On the third and fourteenth days: 2 drops in the affected eye every 4 hours.
Do not take ciprofloxacin:
- If you are allergic to the active ingredients, any of the quinolone antibiotics, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and precautions:
- Tell your doctor about all your health conditions.
- Do not use for a period longer than stated in the directions. A second infection may occur.
- Take off your contact lenses before using this drug.
Possible side effects:
- Eye/ear irritation.
- White crystals in the eyes of patients with corneal ulcers.
- Bad taste in mouth after instillation.
- Headache when used in the ear.
- Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; Unusual hoarseness or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue or throat.
