Insulin degludec/aspart is an antidiabetic agent, used to lower high blood sugar in people with diabetes. It can be given to adults, teenagers, and children 2 years of age and older.

How to use Insulin Degludec/Aspart:

• Always use this medication exactly as your doctor has told you to.
• Insulin degludec/aspart is injected subcutaneously (under the skin). It can be injected into the abdominal wall, thigh, upper arm, or by continuous infusion into the abdominal wall.
• The effect will be a little faster if the insulin is injected into your abdomen. For all types of insulin,
• Injection sites and injection sites should be within the injection area (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm).
• Alternate from one injection to another.
• Insulin degludec/aspart should be taken before or shortly after meals (0-15 minutes).

Do not use insulin degludec/aspart:

if:

• You are experiencing an episode of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
• You are allergic to insulin degludec/aspart or any of the ingredients of insulin degludec/aspart.

Warnings and precautions:

Tell your health care provider about all of your medical conditions including, if you:

• You have liver or kidney problems.
• You have heart failure or other heart problems.

Possible side effects of insulin degludec/aspart:

Insulin degludec/aspart can cause serious side effects. These side effects only happen to a small number of people and include:

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
• Severe allergic reaction.
• Low potassium in the blood (hypokalemia).
• Heart failure.

Other medicines and insulin degludec/aspart:

• Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take especially those called thiazolidinediones, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, or herbal supplements.
