Arena Plus 300/25 mg 30 Tablet

Scientific name: Irbesartan / hydrochlorothiazide 300/25 mg.

Uses:

• Indicated for hypertension in patients who are not adequately controlled with monotherapy.
• It is indicated for high blood pressure as first-line treatment for patients who are likely to require multiple medications to achieve their blood pressure goal.

How to use:

• Adults over 18 years of age and CrCl >30ml/min  The usual dose is one tablet daily.
• Irbesartan/hydrochlorothiazide tablet can be taken with or without food.
• It can be taken at any time of the day.
• It may be given with other antihypertensive agents.
• Do not break the tablet in half.
• Correct if the extent of depletion is known before starting the drug.

Side effects:

• fatigue.
• Dizziness.
• Myalgia.

Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking irbesartan/hydrochlorothiazide:

• To monitor kidney function.
• To monitor potassium levels.
• If you suffer from vision problems such as myopia or glaucoma.
• If you have lupus.
• If you are at risk of dehydration.

Do not take irbesartan/hydrochlorothiazide:

• Allergy to irbesartan or hydrochlorothiazide.
• Hypersensitivity to sulfonamide-derived drugs (eg sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, sulfasalazine).
• Anuria (not having enough urine).
• renal failure.
• Liver weakness.
