Scientific name: Cefodoxime 200 mg.

Uses:

• This medication is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections.
• It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of infections such as: pneumonia, sinusitis, cystitis, gonococcal infection, etc. caused by bacteria.

How to use:

• Take this medication by mouth, usually every 12 hours or as directed by your doctor.
•  Take it with food to help increase the absorption of the medication.

Warnings and precautions:

• This medication may cause live bacterial vaccines (such as typhoid vaccine) to not work as well.
• Tell your health care professional that you are using this medication before taking any immunizations/vaccinations.
• Older adults may be more at risk for side effects while using this medication.
• During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed.

Before taking cefpodoxime, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:

• you are allergic to it or penicillin or other cephalosporin antibiotics (such as cephalexin); Or if you have any other allergies.
• This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of:

• Kidney disease.
• Stomach/intestinal diseases (eg colitis).
• Kidney function declines as you get older. This medication is removed by the kidneys.
