Amoxicillin 600 mg in 5 ml, clavulanate potassium powder 42.9 mg for oral suspension, does not contain the same amount of clavulanic acid (as potassium salt) as any of the other Augmentin suspensions.
Amoxicillin 600 mg in 5 ml, Clavlonate Potassium powder 42.9 mg for oral suspension contains 42.9 mg of clavulanic acid per 5 ml, while AUGMENTIN 200 mg/5 ml suspension contains 28.5 mg of clavulanic acid per 5 ml and 400 mg/5 ml Suspension containing 57 mg of clavulanic acid per 5 ml.
Therefore, the 200 mg/28.5 mg/5 mL and 400 mg/57 mg/5 mL suspensions of AUGMENTIN should not be substituted for Amoxicillin 600 mg in 5 mL, Clavlonate Potassium 42.9 mg Powder for oral suspension because they are not interchangeable.

Warnings and precautions:
Allergic reactions are more likely to occur in individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin and/or a history of sensitization to multiple allergens.
There have been reports of individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin, who have experienced severe reactions when treated with cephalosporins.
Before initiating treatment with Augmentin ES 600 mg, careful inquiry should be made regarding previous hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins, cephalosporins or other allergens.
If an allergic reaction occurs, Augmentin ES 600 mg should be discontinued and appropriate treatment initiated.
Serious anaphylactic reactions require emergency treatment with adrenaline.
Oxygen, intravenous steroids, and airway management, including intubation, may also be required.
Because Augmentin ES 600 mg contains amoxicillin, an aminopenicillin, it is not the treatment of choice for patients with sore throat or pharyngitis due to the possibility that the underlying cause is infectious mononucleosis, in the presence of which there is a high incidence of skin rash if amoxicillin is used. .
Augmentin ES 600 mg should be avoided if infectious mononucleosis is suspected.
Changes in liver function tests have been observed in some patients receiving it.
Liver function should be monitored at regular intervals.
Augmentin ES 600 mg should be used with caution in patients with evidence of impaired liver function.
In patients with moderate or severe renal impairment, the dose of Augmentin should be adjusted according to the degree of impairment.
