Ocugesic 0.1% eye drops 5 ml

Ocugesic 0.1% eye drops 5 ml:

• This eye drop consists of a non-steroidal compound that has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects, as it works to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins, which play a major role in the occurrence of inflammation and pain, especially after surgeries, eye injuries, or in other non-infectious inflammatory conditions.
• Giving this drop for the purpose of prophylaxis has been proven to patients undergoing cataract removal and intraocular lens implantation, as it reduces the incidence and severity of cystoid macular edema if it occurs.

Medicinal uses of Okiogesic:

• This medication is used to treat swelling (inflammation) of the eye after cataract surgery.
• It is used after another type of eye surgery (corneal refractive surgery) to temporarily relieve eye pain and sensitivity to light.

Instructions for use :

• Before surgery, one drop is instilled a maximum of 5 times during the three hours preceding surgery.
• After surgery, drip one drop 3 times immediately after surgery, then one drop 3-5 times daily for a period determined by need.
• For other cases, drip one drop 4-5 times daily.
• Storage: The preparation must be stored at a temperature ranging between 15-25 degrees Celsius, and the remainder of the solution should be disposed of one month after opening the package.

Warnings and precautions:

• Bleeding time may be prolonged when using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so caution should be exercised when using it in patients who are predisposed to bleeding or who are being treated with anticoagulants.
• Contact lenses must be removed before using the drops and put on after more than 15 minutes of use.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby.

Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may report:

• A burning sensation in the eye for one to two minutes, and temporary blurred vision may occur when applying this medication. Watery eyes may also occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
• A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek medical attention right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
