Cefdinir is used to treat respiratory infections, acute sinusitis, and infections of the skin and skin structure
How to use:
- For oral use.
- Adults: 300 mg twice daily.
- Dosage adjustment is required in case of renal impairment.
- Children older than 6 months: The recommended daily dose for children is 7 mg/kg twice daily.
side effects:
Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop:
- With urticaria and skin rash.
- Chest tightness and wheezing.
- Reduction of Blood pressure.
Warnings and precautions:
- The dose must be adjusted according to the degree of renal impairment.
- Tell your doctor if you experience diarrhea, as pseudomembranous colitis has been reported with this medication.
- Bacterial or fungal overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms may occur with prolonged or repeated treatment.
Interaction with other medications:
- Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum interfere with the absorption of cefdinir, so take it at least two hours before or after the antacid.
- Iron supplements, including multivitamins that contain iron, interfere with the absorption of cefdinir. Take cefdinir supplements at least 2 hours before or after supplements.
Preservation method:
- Store at room temperature away from light and moisture.
- Keep all medications out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain.
- Do not take the medicine after its expiration date.
