Scientific name: Montelukast 10 mg tablets.

Uses:

• Your doctor may prescribe montelukast to treat asthma and prevent asthma symptoms during the day and at night.
• Montelukast is used to treat adults and teenagers aged 15 years and older who are not well controlled with their medications and need additional treatment.
• Montelukast also helps prevent exercise-induced narrowing of the airways.
• Montelukast is prescribed for asthma, as Montelukast can also relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis.

How to use:

• Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you.
• Dosages will depend on your medical condition.
• For adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over: The recommended dose is one 10 mg tablet daily in the evening.
• You can take Montelukast 10 mg with or without food.
• Doses may change in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor's instructions.

Side effects:

Side effects are not common to everyone, but some patients may complain of:

• Stomach ache.
• headache.
• Allergic reactions.
• Changes related to behavior and mood: agitation including aggressive behavior or depression.
• Throbbing.

Warnings and precautions:

• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Montelukast. If your asthma gets worse or difficulty breathing becomes more difficult, tell your doctor right away.
• Montelukast is not intended to treat severe asthma attacks. If an attack occurs, follow the instructions given to you by your doctor.
• It is important that you or your child take all of the asthma medicines your doctor has prescribed and montelukast should not be replaced with other asthma medicines your doctor has prescribed.
• Any patient taking anti-asthma medications should be aware that if they develop a combination of symptoms such as flu-like illness, numbness in the arms or legs, worsening pulmonary symptoms and/or rash, they should consult a physician.

Preservation method:

• Store at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
• Do not refrigerate the medicine in the refrigerator.
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Must be stored in the original packaging to protect it from moisture.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
