Scientific name: Dapagliflozin 5 mg tablets.

Uses:

• Dapagliflozin Dapagliflozin is used for a type of diabetes called type 2 diabetes in which your body does not produce enough insulin or cannot properly use the insulin it produces.

How to use:

If you take dapagliflozin for type 2 diabetes:

• The recommended dose is one 10 mg tablet every day.
• Your doctor may start you on a dose of 5 mg if you have a liver problem.
• Your doctor will prescribe the appropriate strength for you.
• Swallow the tablet whole with half a glass of water.
• You can take it with or without food.
• You can take it however, try to take it at the same time every day.

Side effects:

• Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing.
• Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching of the face or body.

Warnings and precautions:

Contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately:

• If you feel nauseous or sick, stomach pain, extreme thirst, fast and deep breathing, confusion, unusual sleepiness or tiredness, a sweet smell on your breath, a sweet or metallic taste in your mouth, or a different smell than urine or... Sweat or rapid weight loss.
• The above symptoms may be a sign of 'diabetic ketoacidosis' - a serious, sometimes life-threatening problem that diabetes can cause due to increased levels of 'ketone bodies' in the urine or blood, which show up in tests.
• The risk of diabetic ketoacidosis may increase with prolonged fasting, excessive alcohol consumption, dehydration, sudden reduction in insulin dose, or increased need for insulin due to major surgery or serious illness.
• When treated with dapagliflozin, diabetic ketoacidosis can occur even if your blood sugar level is normal.
• If you suspect you have diabetic ketoacidosis, contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately and do not take this medicine.

Preservation method:

• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package.
• This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
• Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste.
