Cystine lubricating eye drops 15 ml:
Polyethylene glycol 400 - 0.4% / propylene glycol 0.3% eye drops.
A lubricant used to temporarily relieve irritation and burning caused by dry eyes.
Do not use Cysteine:
- If you are allergic to polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, or any of the ingredients in this medication. Tell your doctor about your allergy and signs.
- If the product appears cloudy or changes in color.
Warnings and precautions:
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting this medication if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, or any of the ingredients in this medication.
- This medicine is intended for external use only.
- Stop using the medication and consult a doctor if you feel irritation or redness in the eye gets worse or lasts for more than 72 hours.
- Stop using the medication and consult a doctor if you experience changes in vision or eye pain.
- If you wear contact lenses, be sure to remove them before putting in your eye drops so as not to damage the contact lenses.
Possible side effects:
- Possible side effects include signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash and itching. Common side effects include blurred vision, minor eye irritation, and burning or stinging.
Other medicines and cysteine:
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines including eye drops. If you are using more than one eye drop solution, be sure to administer each for at least five minutes to avoid dripping out the eye drops.
How to use Cysteine:
- The recommended dose is one or two drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.
- wash your hands. Remove the bottle cap. Tilt your head slightly back and pull your lower eyelid down to create a pocket. Hold the bottle over your eye with the tip facing down. Look up and away from the bottle and squeeze the container to release a drop. Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes with your head facing down making sure not to blink. Gently press on the corner of your eye for about a minute. Make sure to replace the cap after each use
- Make sure the tip of the container does not touch any surface to avoid contamination.
- Space the drops for at least 5 minutes.
