Keflex is a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by killing bacteria in the body.

Uses:

It is used to treat infections caused by bacteria:

• Upper respiratory infections.
• Ear infections.
• Skin infections.
• Urinary tract infections.
• Bone infections.

side effects:

• Diarrhea and colitis.
• Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis.
• Increased prothrombin time.
• Allergic reaction.
• cramps.
• Interstitial nephritis.

Warnings and precautions:

• It is not recommended to use probenecid at the same time as Keflex.
• Use with caution in patients with a history of or suffering from gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis.
• It may prolong the prothrombin time, especially in patients with liver or kidney failure, and poor nutritional status.
• Convulsions may occur, especially in patients with renal insufficiency.
