Herptrex 500 mg 10 tablets:

Anti-inflammatories caused by herpes viruses including genital herpes, cold sores, and shingles.

What is the mechanism of action of Herpterx:

• "Valacyclovir rapidly and almost completely converts to acyclovir."
• Acyclovir is an antiviral medication that works by interfering with the viral DNA polymerase to prevent the replication of the virus's DNA, thereby eliminating the virus.

Uses of Herptrex:

• Treatment of shingles (a skin disease caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox) (in adults).
• Treatment of herpes simplex virus infections of the skin and genital herpes (in adults and adolescents over the age of 12). It is also used to help prevent the recurrence of these infections.
• Treatment of cold sores (in adults and adolescents over 12 years old).
• Prevention of CMV infection after organ transplantation (in adults and adolescents over 12 years old).
• Treatment and prevention of recurrent herpes simplex virus infection in the eye (in adults and adolescents over 12 years old).

How to use Herptrex:

• Take Herptrex with or without food, as advised by your doctor.
• Do not break, chew, or crush Herptrex in your mouth.
• Swallow Herptrex as a whole with enough water.
• Avoid taking Herptrex more or less than the recommended dose.
• Take Herptrex for the recommended duration for better results.
• Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration, as it may increase the risk of kidney damage if you are dehydrated.
• Consult your doctor if you experience any unwanted effects that persist or worsen.

•  Immunosuppressive drugs (such as Tacrolimus).
• Antibiotics that are given by injection (such as bacitracin).
• Antifungals (such as Foscarnet).
• Cancer medications (such as Cisplatin).
