Emiflox 500 mg 7 Tablet - Levofloxacin.

It is an antibiotic that belongs to a class of medications called 'fluoroquinolones'. It is used to treat adult patients with bacterial infections in the following body parts:

• Lungs and bronchi.
• Urinary tract (bladder and kidneys).
• paranasal sinuses.
• prostate.
• Skin.

Do not take levofloxacin:

• If you are allergic to levofloxacin, other quinolones, or any of the ingredients of this medication.
• Tell your doctor about your allergy and signs.

Warnings and precautions:

• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure and dizziness.
• This medication may increase your risk of developing tendinitis (inflammation of the cords that connect muscles to bones). Contact your doctor if you experience muscle or joint pain and stiffness.
• Be sure to tell your doctor if you are 60 or older, take steroids, or have had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant.
• This medication may cause blood problems such as thrombocytopenia and other blood problems. Be sure to watch for bleeding, delayed wound healing, easy bruising, feeling tired or dizzy, fever, and paleness.

Possible side effects:

• This medication may cause liver problems. Call your doctor right away if you have side effects of a liver problem such as pale skin, yellowing eyes, white stools, dark urine, fatigue, and flatulence.
• This medication may cause confusion, anxiety, convulsions, depression, and difficulty sleeping after the first dose.
• Use of this medication may be associated with Clostridium difficile diarrhea (a bacterial infection of the intestines that causes diarrhea). Be sure to tell your doctor if you have diarrhea.
• This medication may cause tingling and numbness in your extremities. If this happens, be sure to tell your doctor in order to prevent irreversible damage to the nerves.
