Why is Trometamol Fosfomycin used?
- Fosfomycin is used to treat urinary tract infections in women caused by bacteria sensitive to fosfomycin.
Do not take Fosfomycin Trometamol:
- If you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
How to take Fosfomycin Trometamol:
- This medication is not used in children under 12 years of age.
- Take this medication as your doctor ordered.
- Mix with 1/2 cup of water and drink it immediately. Do not use hot water.
- The recommended dose is one 3-gram sachet taken orally as a single dose.
Precautions and Warnings:
Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including if you have:
- If you have experienced severe diarrhea due to the use of antibiotics.
Potential side effects:
Stop using this product and seek medical attention immediately if you experience:
- Skin rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Very common side effects:
- diarrhea.
- Nausea.
- Headache.
- Upset stomach.
- Itching or vaginal discharge.
Other medications and Fosfomycin Trometamol:
- Tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking.
- Do not take Fosfomycin Trometamol with the drug Metoclopramide.
