Amoxicillin capsules 500 mg.
Amoxicillin is designated for treating infections caused by bacteria in various parts of the body.
It can also be used in combination with other medicines to treat stomach ulcers.
• If you are allergic to amoxicillin, penicillin, or any other ingredients of this medicine
• If you have had any allergic reaction to any antibiotic
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking amoxicillin capsules if
• You have glandular fever (fever, sore throat, swollen glands, and extreme tiredness)
• You have kidney problems
• You do not urinate regularly.
Stop taking amoxicillin capsules and see a doctor immediately if you notice any of the following serious side effects – you may need urgent medical treatment:
• Allergy.
• Rash or the appearance of flat red round spots under the skin or bruising.
• A delayed allergic reaction may occur usually after 7 to 12 days of taking the capsules
• Skin reaction
• Flu-like symptoms
• Fever, chills, sore throat, or other signs of infection
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
• If you are taking allopurinol
• If you are taking probenecid
• If you are taking medicines to help prevent blood clotting
• If you are taking other antibiotics
• If you are taking methotrexate
The usual dose of amoxicillin capsules is 250 mg to 500 mg three times a day or 750 mg to 1 gram every 12 hours, depending on the severity and type of infection.
