Artez 10 mg 30 tablets:
- Cetirizine belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. These medications help relieve the symptoms of some types of allergies.
- It prevents histamine from binding to its “H1” receptors in the cells of the respiratory system, blood vessels, and digestive system
- From the second generation, it does not cause drowsiness.
This medication is used to relieve:
- Symptoms of hay fever and other allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, burning and itchy eyes.
- Symptoms of skin allergies such as rash, itching or urticaria (hives).
How to use Artez:
- Food does not affect the absorption of the drug.
- For adults and children over 12 years of age: The recommended dose is one tablet at bedtime.
- For children aged 6 - 12 years: The recommended dose is 0.5 - 1 tablet before bedtime.
- For children under 6 years: Not recommended.
- Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.
Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you:
- You have a kidney problem.
- You have epilepsy or are at risk of seizures.
- You have a predisposition to urinary retention (such as a spinal cord lesion or prostate enlargement) as cetirizine increases the risk of urinary retention.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this medication.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not use this medicine if:
- You are allergic (hypersensitive) to cetirizine hydrochloride or any of the ingredients of this medicine.
- You have serious kidney problems.
- You are allergic to lactose.
Possible side effects:
The following side effects are rare or very rare, but you should stop taking the medicine and talk to your doctor straight away if you notice them:
- Allergic reactions, including severe reactions and angioedema (a serious allergic reaction that causes swelling of the face or throat). These reactions may start soon after you first take the medication, or they may start later.
- Sleepiness.
