Cefdinir is a third-generation, semi-synthetic cephalosporin antibiotic for oral administration. Cefdinir is used to treat respiratory tract infections, acute sinusitis, skin and skin structure infections.
How to use:
Cefdinir for oral use.
Adults: 300 mg twice daily.
Dosage adjustment is required in case of renal impairment.
Children older than 6 months: The recommended daily dose for children is 7 mg/kg twice daily.
Side effects:
Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop hives, rash, chest tightness, wheezing, and low blood pressure.
Warnings and precautions:
The dose must be adjusted according to the degree of renal impairment.
Tell your doctor if you experience diarrhea, as pseudomembranous colitis has been reported with this medication.
Bacterial or fungal overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms may occur with prolonged or repeated treatment.
Do not use cefdinir if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, or to any other cephalosporin or penicillin medicines.
Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum interfere with the absorption of cefdinir; If this is required during treatment, take it at least 2 hours before or after antacids.
Iron supplements, including multivitamins containing iron, interfere with the absorption of cefdinir if necessary. Take iron supplements at least 2 hours before or after supplementation.
Preservation method:
Store at room temperature away from light and moisture.
Keep all medications out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not store in the bathroom or flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date on the blister.
