Atomibe is a combination medication containing ezetimibe and atorvastatin, used to help lower cholesterol and fat levels in the blood. It works by reducing cholesterol absorption from the intestines and decreasing its production in the liver, thereby lowering harmful cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, raising beneficial cholesterol (HDL), and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease when used with a healthy diet.

Uses:

• Treats high total cholesterol.
• Lowers harmful cholesterol (LDL) levels.
• Helps lower triglycerides.
• Raises beneficial cholesterol (HDL) levels.
• Reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease in at-risk patients.

Usage instructions:

Drug interactions:

Atomib may interact with some medications, including:

• Infection treatments such as cyclosporine, erythromycin, and rifampicin.
• Antifungals such as ketoconazole and fluconazole.

• Other lipid-lowering drugs such as fibrates and niacin.
• HIV or hepatitis C antiviral drugs.
• Fusidic acid, as it may increase the risk of muscle problems when used with the drug.
• Grapefruit juice may increase atorvastatin blood levels, so it is advised to avoid consuming it in large amounts during treatment.

Contraindications:

• Allergy to ezetimibe, atorvastatin, or any of the drug components.
• Active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevation of liver enzymes.
• Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
• Concurrent use with certain hepatitis C treatments such as Glecaprevir/Pibrentasvir.
