What is Betamethasone Valerate and what is it used for:

Betamethasone Valerate belongs to a class of medicines known as "topical corticosteroids" that work to reduce inflammation, itching, and redness of the skin.

It is used to treat certain skin problems, such as eczema (a common skin disorder causing itching and redness), and some types of dermatitis.

It is available in the form of an ointment and cream applied to the skin.

Do not use Betamethasone Valerate:

If you are allergic to Betamethasone Valerate, any other corticosteroid, or any of the ingredients in this product.

If the package is torn or shows signs of tampering.

If the expiration date on the medicine box has passed.

If you experience an allergic reaction or skin irritation when using this cream/ointment.

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

If you have other skin problems (such as fungal or bacterial skin infections, anal or genital itching, cold sores, shingles, chickenpox, tuberculosis, skin ulcers, acne, or perioral dermatitis).

Using this medicine for other skin disorders may worsen your condition. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

If you have poor blood circulation in the skin area (to prevent skin ulcers).

In children under one year old, unless recommended by your doctor.

Warnings and Precautions:

Stop using the medicine immediately and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop any allergies or skin reactions to any of the ingredients in this cream/ointment such as skin itching, redness, shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure, or dizziness.

This medicine is for external topical use only. Do not swallow this product.

Avoid contact of the cream/ointment with your lips, eyes, mouth, and sensitive areas of the neck and nostrils to prevent irritation.

In case of accidental contact, be sure to rinse the area well with warm water and then dry it.

Contact your doctor immediately if you or your child experience any vision problems (such as blurred vision).

Make sure not to use any occlusive dressings if you have a skin infection.

Talk to your doctor before starting this medicine if you are allergic to any medicines, dyes, foods, or other preservatives,
if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to breastfeed, or if you have any other health problems (especially infections).

Be sure to inform your healthcare providers that you are using this medicine.

Talk to your doctor if your skin condition worsens, becomes inflamed, or does not improve.

Talk to your doctor if you are not using this product as directed to ensure you are not switched to another treatment thinking this medicine is unsuitable for you.

Do not share this medicine with anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms.

Do not use tight diapers or plastic pants if this product is to be used in the diaper area of young children.

Do not apply this medicine under tight clothing to avoid skin thinning.

Do not use this medicine for a long time on large areas to prevent excessive absorption and unwanted side effects.

Do not use this product for other purposes.
