How to use Champix tablets
Start taking varenicline as directed by your doctor, 1 to 2 weeks before your quit date.
Take one 0.5 milligram tablet once daily for 3 days, then increase to one 0.5 milligram tablet twice daily for 4 days.
The dose is increased slowly to reduce the chance of side effects (such as nausea, unusual dreams).
Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.
