Amoxicillin / Clavulanic Acid Tablets 1 gm
Amoxicillin / Clavulanic Acid is used in adults and children to treat the following infections:
Middle ear and sinus infections.
Respiratory tract infections.
Urinary tract infections.
Skin and soft tissue infections including dental infections.
Bone and joint infections.
If you are allergic to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, penicillin, or any other ingredients of this medicine.
If you have previously had a severe allergic reaction to any other antibiotic.
This may include rash or swelling of the face or throat.
If you have previously had liver problems or jaundice (yellowing of the skin) when taking an antibiotic.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Amoxicillin / Clavulanic Acid if you:
Have glandular fever
Are being treated for liver or kidney problems
Do not pass water regularly
Possible side effects of Amoxicillin / Clavulanic Acid:
These include allergic reactions, seizures (fits), and inflammation of the large intestine.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking allopurinol, if you are taking probenecid, or if you are taking medicines to help stop blood clotting (such as warfarin).
Adults and children weighing 40 kg or more: the usual dose is one tablet three times a day. Children weighing less than 40 kg:
It is preferable to treat children aged 6 years or under with Amoxicillin / Clavulanic Acid oral suspension or sachets.
Take with food.
Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.
Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date (EXP) stated on the carton.
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not store above 25 degrees Celsius.
Tablets supplied in sachets should be used within 30 days of opening the sachet.
Keep the medicine in the original package to protect from moisture.
Do not use if tablets are cut or damaged.
Do not dispose of any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
